DID YOU KNOW?

There were three elements to this iconic prop: the envelope, the letter, and the list of equipment. Miraphora Mina handwrote every word in emerald green ink, using a traditional calligraphy nib pen.

Needing to embody the letter’s author—the formidable Professor and Deputy Headmistress, Minerva McGonagall —Miraphora added a touch of personality to the official correspondence with the idiosyncratic formation of the lettering.

MinaLima designed three different mastheads and layouts for The Daily Prophet across the Harry Potter film series, ranging from the whimsical designs inspired by Victorian broadsheets, to the bold typographic style after the rise of Lord Voldemort.

While the film scripts may have specified the lead headlines, Eduardo took up the mantle of ‘Editor-in-Chief’ to populate the pages with special reports, advertisements, horoscopes and more. From vampire garlic bread overdoses to an accident-prone ginger witch, can you spot any humorous headlines?
