Trace the lineage of the notorious Black family with our limited edition print featuring the sprawling branches of the family tree. Faithfully recreated, this authentic graphic prop was originally created by MinaLima for the film 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'.
Behind the design
Stumbled upon by Harry at 12 Grimmauld Place, the Black Family Tapestry weaves together the ancient and modern lineage of his godfather Sirius, whose portrait, alongside those of other disgraced family members, has been burnt out of the tapestry. Our design features the ornate family tree of infamous witches and wizards from Sirius’ great-great-grandfather Phineus Nigellus Black, to Harry’s arch-nemesis, Draco Malfoy. Taking inspiration from medieval wall-hangings, MinaLima designed the family portraits with a range of hats and headdresses to reflect the age of the tapestry and the changing wizarding fashions over the years.
