Behind the design
A magical evening of dancing and festivities, the Yule Ball was held on Christmas Day in Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts as part of the Triwizard Tournament, during which the Great Hall was transformed into a magnificent winter wonderland. Our design features the poster for the festive celebration, with the practical details for the ball set against a frosty background of stars and the domes of the magnificent ice-sculpture centrepiece. Referencing the fact that the Yule Ball was a school event primarily attended by teenage guests, MinaLima designed the poster as though they were Hogwarts students, with an eclectic use of fonts and wintry imagery to convey the youthful frivolity of the Christmas celebration.
