Behind the design
Awarded to the winner of the Triwizard Tournament, the Triwizard Cup was hidden at the centre of the labyrinthine maze during the Third Task having been secretly transformed into a portkey by Barty Crouch Jr. Our design features a sketch of the impressive trophy, with its three dragon handles for each of the tournament's participating schools, created as concept art for the iconic physical prop. Inspired by medieval religious objects, MinaLima designed the heavy gothic trophy to be made out of pewter to show the age and antiquity of the competition, while the green-hued crystal of the cup and its organic moss-like forms hint at the underwater nature of the Second Task.
