Behind the design
Concealed from the Muggle world behind a wall in the heart of Berlin, the Deutsches Ministerium für Magie is the wizarding governing body of Germany, dealing with everything from magical law enforcement to the management of Erkstag prison. Our design features the bold insignia with its imperial eagle motif, geometric elements symbolising progress and the rising sun, and stark colour palette. Inspired by Art Deco and Bauhaus design movements of the 1930s and the imposing set design of the German Ministry, MinaLima designed the insignia to convey the power and strength of the magical institution that was also the seat of Anton Vogel, German Minister for Magic and current Supreme Mugwump for the International Confederation of Wizards.
