Behind the design

Concealed from the Muggle world beneath the heart of Paris, Le Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France is the wizarding governing body of France, dealing with everything from magical law enforcement to student exchange programmes. Our design features nine posters designed for the ministry that include swirling frames, tricolor flags and depictions of Marianne, the French revolutionary figure, wearing her liberty cap and cockade. As well as bringing together Art Deco and Art Nouveau design styles that are synonymous with Paris, MinaLima designed the posters to include multiple references to French revolutionary iconography, including a wizarding take on the French national motto Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité: Incanté, Envouté, Conjuré (Cast, Bewitched, Conjured).
