Gallery/ Retail Assistant

Want to share your love of graphic design with visitors from all around the world? The House of MinaLima in London is looking for you to join the family in our flagship Soho shop and gallery.

Your Role

You’ll be representing the brand that created the graphic world of the Harry Potter films, providing in-depth knowledge to our visitors about all of our prints and products from the Wizarding World to our Illustrated Classics.

As a Gallery Assistant, you will need to be calm and confident in all situations, as our house does get rather full and on our busiest days we have welcomed up to 1000 visitors!

You will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about graphic design and illustration, as this is not just a retail role, but requires someone who can bring our art to life.

Skills Required

  • Existing knowledge of and affection for the Wizarding World and a desire to learn all about our Graphic Art. 
  • Great interpersonal skills – being able to talk, explain and sell to a wide range of people.
  • Enthusiastic and committed – a team player with a positive ‘can do’ approach and plenty of initiative.
  • Point of Sale (till system) knowledge. The ability to open and close the till at the start/ end of the day would be an added bonus!
  • Attention to detail to ensure the high standard of visual merchandise of the shop is maintained.
  • Be the caretaker of our products and props to ensure customers treat them with respect.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects & navigate stairs.
  • Prior retail experience is essential.
  • Other duties and tasks to help the wider company as required.

The Studio

Welcome to Minalima! Founded in 2009 by Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, the graphic designers who imagined and created the graphic universe of the Harry Potter™ film series for Warner Bros. Their partnership has flourished through all the subsequent films with their prop designs inspiring a range of merchandise products and art prints. This has enabled our Retail arm “The Art Printorium” to continue to expand and we are now a very successful small business with robust international growth plans to scale our business ×10 in the next 5 years.

The Details

  • 1 year fixed-term contract
  • 5 days per week (37.5 hours) including weekends
  • Working in Soho, London and must be willing to commute
  • You must have the Right to Work in the UK
