People and Culture Assistant (Part Time)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive person to join our team. Working with our Head of People and Culture, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the operations as well as contributing to people support initiatives such as learning and development.

A varied role, you will be someone who enjoys supporting people and enabling the business, able to work independently and collaboratively. This fantastic opportunity is ideally suited to someone who is highly organised, detail driven, and wants to hone their people skills and develop as an HR expert.

Your Role:

As our People and Culture Assistant your responsibilities will include:

Managing the hiring process:

  • Post job descriptions and adverts
  • Suggest the most effective recruitment approach
  • Filter applications and fielding candidates 
  • Conducting and arranging interviews 
  • Organising offer letters and contracts for all new starters
  • Collating, checking validity and scanning all required documents (Proof of ID, Proof of National Insurance No and proof of Address)

Onboarding new starters:

  • Organising desk space and equipment for new starters
  • Ensuring all HR documentation is prepared
  • Ensuring health and safety training is maintained and up to date
  • Arranging keys and fobs for new starters 
  • Organising probation review meetings between managers and new starters

Working with the Head of People and Culture to develop a best in class service including:

  • Helping to develop and implement processes and documentation including an updated employee handbook
  • Supporting the team with the roll out of the performance system for the next round of reviews
  • Holding face to face meetings with all members of the business and as when needed
  • Tracking all absences 
  • Implementing processes and procedures in accordance with UK law
  • Providing HR advice to managers

Administrative duties including:

  • Keeping the status and employee files up to date using online HR system and physical documents
  • Drafting communications, contracts and documentation

Requirements and skills:

  • Driven by the detail and highly organised
  • Keen eye for accuracy and an ability to maintain a high-quality standard in all written correspondences, reports, and other documentation. 
  • Experience in human resources and an understanding of employment Law
  • Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
  • An empathic, supportive nature
  • Ability to manage several projects at any one time 
  • An interest in learning and development and fostering a positive work environment

Their partnership has flourished through all the subsequent films with their prop designs inspiring a range of merchandise products and art prints.  We are an independent and fast-paced graphic design studio that, with magic and wonder, brings stories to life through outstanding design.

The Details:

  • 3 days per week (there is flexibility in how we would distribute those days)
  • Must be available to come into the office
  • You must have the Right to Work in the UK 
  • Salary in the region of 33K pro rata
